The total consultation is in three sections. The first section is a discussion of the Trust Technique, and understanding the shared feelings between David and Anah. Then a demonstration on creating the peaceful feeling to share with Anah, by finding the Present Moment, and then watching how she reacts to that invitation.
The second video is learning how to find the Present Moment, and knowing it is okay to have thoughts. Just don’t engage with them. Remember, it is not about how long, or how strong your Present Moment is, it is about knowing when you are thinking, or distracted, letting that go, and getting yourself back to the Present Moment.
The third video is learning Mindful Regard using the Present Moment and then regarding the donkeys and sensing when it is okay to approach them. This was at liberty as the point is being able to approach the donkeys without them running off as soon as they see a human.
In between video two and three, there were two days of processing, because as we were about to go into Mindful Regard with Anah on the end of a rope, she decided she wasn’t ready for this with David and took off. She re-enacted her arrival, running around the property with the lead rope trailing on the floor, until she was able to engage in being still and allowing the halter and rope to be removed. When this was done she released her fear of being ‘caught’. It was her choice. Nobody was chasing her. All we did was give her a space and invitation. When she was ready she put all her bravery into her body and allowed herself to be still. Over the weekend she released more and more. She is now a lot more confident, trusting, happy and curious.
