The Extended Chakra System (8–12)
Beyond the traditional seven chakras, some modern systems describe “transpersonal chakras”—energy centers outside the physical body. These are less standardized, but here’s one of the most common interpretations:
🌟 8. Soul Star — “Higher self / beyond ego”
- Location: A few inches above the head
- Theme: Connection to a higher perspective
- Focus: Purpose, expanded awareness
👉 Think: “Who am I beyond my day-to-day identity?”
💫 9. Spirit Chakra — “Spiritual will” (Not shown on diagram)
- Location: Higher above the head
- Theme: Alignment with a greater direction
- Focus: Inner calling, intention
👉 Think: “What is guiding me?”
✨ 10. Universal Chakra — “Unity”
- Location: Even further outward
- Theme: Interconnection of everything
- Focus: Unity, oneness
👉 Think: “How am I connected to everything?”
🌠 11. Galactic Chakra — “Cosmic awareness”
- Location: Far beyond the body (symbolically)
- Theme: Awareness beyond human perspective
- Focus: Vastness, cosmic view
👉 Think: “What exists beyond human understanding?”
🌌 12. Divine Gateway — “Pure consciousness”
- Location: Highest level (symbolic)
- Theme: Ultimate awareness
- Focus: Transcendence, pure being
👉 Think: “What is consciousness itself?”
🔽 Don’t forget the one below…
🌍 Earth Star Chakra
- Location: Below your feet
- Theme: Grounding into the Earth
- Focus: Stability, connection to reality
👉 Think: “Am I grounded in real life?”
Understanding all this
These higher chakras aren’t physical—they’re more like layers of perspective:
- 7 chakras → human experience (body, emotions, thoughts)
- 8–12 chakras → abstract awareness (meaning, connection, existence)
You can think of it like levels of thinking:
- 1–3 → survival, emotion, action
- 4–5 → relationships, communication
- 6–7 → insight, meaning
- 8–12 → big-picture thinking pushed to the extreme
Important note
There’s no single official version of chakras beyond 7. Different systems use different names, place them differently and/or interpret them in their own way. So this as a framework for reflection, not something fixed or scientific.
